Guyabano, Lemongrass, Avocado and Guava Leaves Tea

Guyabano leaves calm the nerves and are anti-inflammatory. They are good for the immune system and for cancer prevention and treatment. 

Lemongrass is good for digestion, insomnia and anxiety, colds/cough and kidney detox.  

Avocado leaves are good for diabetes, stomach upset, headache, reducing hypertension, and cleansing the kidneys.  

Guava leaves lower bad cholesterol, have a soothing effect on the stomach, and are good for diabetes. 

Butterfly pea flowers are anti-inflammatory, and full of anti-oxidants. They are good for people with fatigue.  

 

Recipe for guyabano, avocado and lemongrass tea: Bring a medium pot of water to boil. Turn off heat. Add four leaves each of guyabano and avocado, five stalks of lemongrass. Crush the lemongrass for better flavor. Let steep for five to ten minutes to desired flavor. Remove guyabano and avocado leaves. Leave the lemongrass until tea cools in covered pot. For variety in flavor or for specific benefits, a single type of leaf can be used to make the tea. Serve warm or chilled. 

 

Recipe for lemongrass iced tea: Bring a small pot of water to boil. Turn off heat. Add five stalks of lemongrass. Crush the lemongrass for better flavor. Let steep in covered pot until the tea cools. Serve chilled. 

 

Recipe for butterfly pea flower iced tea: Bring medium pot of water to boil. Turn off heat. Add 10 butterfly pea flowers. Let steep in covered pot. Let cool. Add raw honey and a squeeze of calamansi. Serve chilled. Makes two pitchers of a refreshing purple drink full of vitality.

 

Recipe for roselle iced tea: Bring medium pot of water to boil. Turn off heat. Add 10 roselle flowers. Let steep in covered pot. Let cool. Add raw honey. Serve chilled. Makes two pitchers of a delicious red drink rich in Vitamin C!
